say what you will about the defense. they only gave up 16 points... the problem i feel like was the run game. that really dictated SO MUCH of this football game.

Did you watch the game? Quit looking at stats.
Schiano managed the game to keep Cam on the sideline by running and throwing dump offs.

Next week going to be different when a team that doesn't want to manage a game in NO comes to town. Big blowout.

Exactly. Schiano didn't tried to out score us big. He managed the game helding a lead the whole entire game by running the ball with a rookie rb to force Cam on the sideline.

And then people go back and look at the stats and say: oh our defense only gave up so and so. They did great. I say, just wait till a high power offense led by a scare face man named Drew Bress come to town next week and we'll see how good this defense led by RR is.

RR is playing vanilla "soft" D.

Silly.

Ball Control wins games when you turn it over and cannot get off the field on 3rd down without timeouts. We hold them 1 more time on 3rd down after the two min warning its possibly a different game. They did not have much of a throwing attack past 7 yards downfield while we were playing man coverage. Our LB's did over pursue a few times that bit us, and I saw a few calls that could have been made, and some that were called were wrong. Norman's PI and the 8 yard sack where Cam had clearly gotten rid of the ball before his knee was down, does it change the game? Doubtful. The play that sticks out in my mind was Cam's scramble where he made the 1st down and we got called for holding. You win some, you lose some, we need better play from our guards.

Look its only 1 game (for now) our O line faxed it in and the sp teams decided they wanted to play for tampa bay. I am not worried at this time becuaese it seems like the mistakes made can be fixed with some motavation from the coaches.

Although we're satisfied with the win and the complete domination of your offensive line, the one thing that Bucs fans are concerned about is that Schiano didn't step on your necks when given the opportunity. He dialed it back...

From day one Schiano has said that he would be all about ball control and running the clock down along with nasty defense. That is his strategy for dealing with the high powered passing attacks in the South (you guys, the Saints**, and Falcons).

We will stop your run while putting tremendous pressure on your QB until he makes mistakes, as we try to establish a lead. Then we will sit and squat on the lead with our running game to keep your qb off the field. You saw the philosophy in action yesterday.

We have the receivers to gain big chunks of yards if necessary, but that wasn't really required in Schiano's mind because our Defense was dictating what you guys could and could not do. So we basically burned the clock. Schiano doesn't want shootouts, he wants ball control.

You'll see how "good" your defense REALLY is next week because I doubt the Saints** offense will try to pull any punches...
