that quote seemed uncharacteristic of rivera. unless he wasn't saying it matter-of-factly, but sort of as a quip. i haven't seen the actual presser so i'm unsure of the context
I thought the exact same thing.
"There is always next week" is the sound of someone defeated. Rivera doesn't seem like that guy.

He's right. The world doesnt end because the Panthers dropped their first game, even though 98% of the ppl here think it does. Even in week 17, theres a next week, a next week to train and get better(or worse). Take this loss and use it to get better. This team can do just that. They can look at their s**t performance from Sunday and get better.

Coming out and simply not caring is God awful.

I don't get the vibe that people are mad about the loss, or simply losing. This team will lose plenty of times, but it's how they're losing and Rivera's responses to the losing that generates the negativity about him.
Coming out and simply not caring is God awful.
I don't see how not yelling at reporters and talking poo about his team to the public proves that he doesn't care. You make it seem as if better coaches can't wait until they're interviewed after a loss so they can cry to everyone about how awful they looked. Why does Rivera need to prove to you or me that he cares anyways?

Oh man I don't know maybe because we fans saw a team that flatout hardly cared when the ball was kicked off yesterday.

I wanted ron to get pissed
I'm sure he is pissed. Behind closed doors they got an earful of Rivera.
Why do people forget about how he raged at practice and made them all do it all over again, how he basically barked at the players for not giving effort?
Do people forget these things quickly or is it selective memory? You only choose to remember what you want to remember?
