I didn't care for "there's always next week" when I heard it initially and I care for it even less now.

We didn't lose yesterday because we were hopelessly out-gunned and made the best effort we could. We lost because our team was unprepared for the game and our gameplan was either terrible or abandoned way too early. These are things that, as the head coach, should be so far up his ass they can see out his mouth and he should be pissed about them.

If he is then would it really hurt to let a little of that show in his presser?

Shades of "it is what it is" to me.

It's a long season.

While we were all expecting a win, it was week one, and it's not the end of the season.

We deserve better than sugar coating and silver lining. The team played like dog poo. When the head coach can't acknowledge how bad his team played it costs him his credibility.

This team will flounder under Rivera.

Coaching decisions are at the best of times okay and at the worst of times awful.

My prediction, anyway. Hope I'm wrong.

There is always two years from now with possibly another coach...

Ron Rivera should channel the energy of the message boards; totally freak out, bench everybody, call Hurney a dumbass, fire both coordinators, then commit Hari-Kari in the middle of his press conference. Anything less than this is weak and unacceptable and reflects a culture of willingness to accept mediocrity.

What does it suggest about your coaching acumen if you can't get your team to execute better than your opponent, when your opponents are led by a rookie head coach from the big east and an interim head coach?

I'd like to think if you have a healthy team and you're a good coach you can at least split the games. Ron needs to deliver a win or else I don't know if we have as good a leader on the sidelines as we think we do. If he can't draw up a better gameplan than Schiano and Joe Vitt, I think it's time we re-evaluate our perception of Ron.
