So I started watching 'Breaking Bad' a couple weeks ago...

First off, I've heard a lot about how good this show was and honestly I didn't think AMC or whatever channel it airs on could come close to HBO in producing a TV show. But I watched the first episode and was immediately hooked. Great acting, directing, music, etc. etc.

So now I'm almost to the end of Season 3, and I hit this episode that actually has me wondering if I should continue watching. I mean it was that bad. I'm sure I can't be the only one to hit this particular episode and have this thought.

It was the fly episode btw. My question is this...is it all pretty much downhill from here on out? Season 3 has been kind of iffy to me anyway, but I thought it would start to pick up and now here I am nearing the end of the season and they spend an entire episode chasing a fly.

I too started watching a couple of weeks ago, but I'm only in the middle of season 2.

I actually just watched a comparably weak episode too, but I'm still hooked.

It's the greatest show in the history of television.

The fly episode doesn't suck. The fly that's in that episode resembles Walt's guilt for letting Jane die like that, that's why he wants Jesse to kill the fly, it resembles him wanting to get rid of the guilt he feels.

The show just gets better, and better, and better. The ending of Season 5 has fans still waiting at the edge of their seats wanting the last 8 episodes.

We have to wait all the way until next summer though, enjoy being able to get into that show right and have something so great to watch besides football...

I also started watching a couple weeks ago and am up to season 4 episode 2. That Fly episode was my least favorite episode. Otherwise the show is great. I still prefer Dexter, but this is right up there.

the slow episodes serve to lull you into a false sense of security

i'm thinking i'm gonna pick up Hell on Wheels next

i watched the first two episodes of justified, and liked the first 5 minutes of hell on wheels better

The "Fly Episode" was my least favorite also.

Every once in awhile there are some lulls in the story to lay new groundwork.

However, the lulls are inevitably followed by a flurry of action.

I think you will enjoy watching the rest of the series.

The end of the fly episode was so fuging tense I couldn't hardly stand it. I was nearly screaming at my TV for Walt to shut the fug up before he said something that Jesse would kill him over.

    • I also want to take this space of internet to announce that I'm still so fuging happy we got Monk.
    • Not really a fan of MCW. Not even sure if he is better than Sessions tbh. I don't think Teague will want to be a backup much less take the MLE, but who knows- might not be a market for him. Livingston would be incredible but don't think we have the money and why would he leave Golden State unless they don't offer him anything.  Here's someone that's not a free agent, but I would not mind us taking a shot on: Dante Exum. With the Jazz trading up to get Donovan Mitchell Exum looks to be ousted as the PG of the future there. He's had his struggles but he's extremely talented and has never really had a great mentor like Kemba would be.  I'd give them Sessions (lol), Jeremy Lamb plus a couple second rounders. Would not give up any of our core: Batum, MKG, Cody, Kemba, Dwight, etc. Wonder if they would bite on that? It's crazy that second rounders really do become valuable. If we had an extra second we could have had Mason + Bacon likely.  Part of me wonders whether or not we will try to have Monk run some backup PG. That would be a mistake IMO. He needs to be running off screens all day.
    • I wrote to both Tillis and Burr - the thing that pisses me off the most about this is that the savings that this bill creates in the budget are not used for deficit reduction - they are nothing but a hand out to the wealthiest among us and corporations in the guise of creating a more robust economy.  These heartless lying  bastards make me sick.
