Via @CMFoster23: Only thing flatter than the Patriots O yesterday was the crowd@GilletteStadium, anyone else notice all the empty red seatsyesterday.

Via @MaseDenver: For such a supposedly big night for the #Falcons, I'm surprised that 11 minutes before kickoff, at least 25 percent of the seats areempty

Via @annkillion: 49ers take the field. Lots of empty seats. Word is there are big delays at the gates. Ah Candlestick.

Via @JodyHighRoller3: The eagles should be ashamed of how many empty seats there are at that game its dead in there smfh

Via @RealMikeWilbon: So many emptyseats in San Diego..are people there resigned the Chargers moving to Los Angeles?

Via @BrandonCee: Look at all those empty seats, now. So much for die-hard #raidersfans. #nfl #chargers

Via @theyoungs07: Was it me or were there a large number of empty seats at the#bears game

Damn. Maybe you should email this to [email protected] so those guys can see it wasn't just Charlotte. ATL was full at kickoff though.

It doesn't matter if it happened all over the NFL. What matters is that you recognize there will be traffic, there might be entrance delays, you can't just waltz over form your tailgate, security checks take time, and the team wants you there for intros. If you realize that, and realize gates open at 11 AM, it can be full when it needs to be.

If by "you" you are implying me then gtfo. I know where and when I gotta be somewhere.

A lot of people were talking about the empty seats, not just early 1Q, but the whole game. We counted random rows during time outs and 2/3 cap. seemed about right. What little rain there was was nothing like the JAX game last year, certainly not enough to stay home, plus, there were even a bunch of empty seats under the overhang. Those that came were pretty loud, usually, but not always, at the right times. That "outflux" with five to go wasn't all that big. It was relatively rowdy even after the game was over. I haven't seen that in a longggggg time.

The complaint I heard that it was empty when the game started.

Agree, I was disappointed in empty seats- but usually am disappointed. I think too many people have seats that don't REALLY want them. Maybe they could try harder to give/sell them to Panther fans.

I will say the ones who were there were pretty loud- even after the "oh not again!" first drive of the Saints.

2nd quarter: You're telling me that 1 out of every 4 seats in this picture isn't filled:

My section was full and loud (507) we also had someone in our section to get face planted by the cops and hauled away which drew a big cheer from the crowd. We also had a guy behind us decked out in a Tom Brady jersey and Patriots hat and my wife gave him hell. She asked him midway through the 2nd quarter how the Pats were doing and he had no idea, I mean come on how the hell are you going to come to a game that's the same time as "your" team and not keep up with how "your" team is playing?

As far as the host on WFNZ I really like Mac and Jim in the mornings but Taylor Z and Marc with a "C" James kill me. They are college football guys trying to pretend to be Panther and NFL guys. I mean yesterday Marc was still questioning the Panthers pick of Kuechly and saying we should have gotten Cox or Brockers because they were doing more already. Brockers has a high ankle sprain and hasn't played and Cox has 7 tackles and a sack compared to Dwan Edwards, that we picked up, who has 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks. All Marc cares about is the "U" and Taylor loves Alabama football which does nothing for me being in Charlotte and caring about Panther football and the ACC. I miss Packman!!!

    • I was a Marine Brat at Camp Lejeune NC and graduated from CLHS in 1978 and on 28 June 1978 I joined the Navy.  I retired On June 30th 2003 after 25 yrs of Naval Service and have been serving overseas to support our troops ever since. I was in Tikrit when they captured Saddam.  Soldiers from our base were the ones who actually found him.  I have been in places in Iraq called Mosul, Al Asad, and Al Kut,  I have been in Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.  The living hell hole called FOB Shank were incoming was a daily encounter. You see young soldiers who don't even shave yet.  Some look like they lied to get in.  Men and women from every walk of life.  Putting that uniform on.  So needless to say, I am very attached and proud of every one of them.  Whether they know me or not.  Tears fill my eyes every time we lose one. (Just lost one last week). This video, I saw when it was originally aired, still make me water up.   I challenge anybody to show me a more military dedicated team, in ANY LEAGUE, ANY SPORT, that supports the troops like the Carolina Panthers.  I'll give my hated Yankees a close 2nd. ($10,00 ticket with a military ID) **at old Yankee Stadium. Carolina is a class act, plain and simple. Thanks for posting this again,
