Indoor Practice Facility?

23 posts in this topic

Gotta think our guys are getting tired of practicing in the Charlotte Convention Center every time it freaking rains. I think this is pretty commonplace, I know the Saints have an impressive indoor practice facility and the Falcons have one as well. Even higher level college programs have indoor practice facilities.

While certainly a more sizable investment, I think this is a better one than escalators or WI-FI in the stadium.

Panthers practiced in the convention center Tuesday, not sure about Monday, but this is already a short week.

Some interesting stats poached from a Redskins forum (cannot attest to their accuracy):

  • 13 of last 14 Super Bowl participants had their own indoor practice facility.
  • Last 8 Super Bowl winners had their own indoor practice facility.
  • Last 6 Super Bowl winners had a fixed structure indoor practice facility (not a bubble).
  • All 12 teams to make playoffs last season used their own indoor practice facility.
  • 2010 teams who practiced using their own indoor full-field training facility had a median win total of 10 (10-6 record).
  • 2010 teams who practiced outdoors had a median win total of 6 (6-10 record).
  • 2010 teams who practiced indoors at own training facility averaged 4 more wins in 2010, compared to those who did not.
  • 2010 teams who practiced outdoors and were not located in Florida or California, had the following records: 6-10 (Redskins), 6-10 (Cowboys), 5-11 (Cardinals), 4-12 (Bengals), 4-12 (Broncos), 2-14 (Panthers).

Here is a link to the Redskins thread about this if you are interested, this dude did his homework:

wow, that's insane!

edit: looking at the post a second time, not that impressed with the 2010 records shown, look at their QBs... but the superbowl (and playoffs) correlation is very interesting.

Just read an article on the Patriots Indoor facility.

Its fuggin padded for reduced concussions.

Wow, I mean we dont even have a indoor facility and the Patriots have a padded one.

There may be something to this.

wut? So to oversimplify, Jake was never the problem or John Fox? All we had to do was put a plastic bubble over the practice fields on Cedar Street and we would have brought home a Lombardi??

Get it built Danny Morrison. Do it now.

Shouldn't cost that much to throw up a giant circus tent on the field. The clowns can stand in for when we play the Saints again.

    • WaPo isn't partners with the CIA. Amazon Web Services, which sells servers to thousands upon thousands of companies and websites, sold servers to the CIA. You can buy your own now right here. Does that make you partners with the WaPo? https://aws.amazon.com When Jimmy Dore says "600 million dollars is more than the Washington Post is even worth!" he's being a dumbass. The Washington Post didn't make the deal with the CIA so what they're worth is irrelevant. Amazon Web Services sold them servers, and they happen to have the same parent company as the Washington Post. The thing about Jimmy Dore is that he is absolutely utterly obsessed with Hillary Clinton. Like, utterly obsessed. Everything goes back to Hillary Clinton to him, and his obsession has morphed into skepticism of the Russian investigation, because he views it as an excuse for why Hillary lost. He can't accept the Russia stuff being true because if it's true then maybe Clinton didn't lose on merit. And so his skepticism of the Russia investigation has led him down the path of 'well the Deep State is conspiring against Trump' and 'the Deep State is the real true evil.' He fact-checks nothing. It's Alex Jones level poo.
    • Anyone who can equate any modern presidency at any moment in time with the embarrassment we see right now is off their gd rocker. What is really telling is that we now see that Trump can't just be casual.  He can't just talk it up with other peers.  He can't just chill the f*ck out. Seriously....people like this are weird as hell.   It's been obvious he's the head of a business but not a business savvy guy since the Apprentice.  I don't understand why we want the Sharknado meets 80s bad guy of Presidents.
    • They said they're working on four spin off shows.. HBO really milking westeros for all it's worth. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing what happened with valyria or the fall of the mad king
