...a helmet that fits, and doesn't constantly pop off?

This was an issue all of last season.

My wife said to me during the Saints game that Rivera should kick the equipment staffs ass over all of the improperly fitting helmets after the fourth or fifth one went rolling across the field.

He can adjust it himself. Some people just prefer loose helmets

Proven fact

Properly fitted helmets are the best defense against concussions.

Its not even up for debate

Lose Cam for 2 or 3 weeks to post concussions symptoms and I don't think anyone will care what he prefers.

I've wondered this myself. It seems like with all the focus on concussions and player safety (lolgoodell) they would force the players to have a properly fitted helmet.

I don't see how one that fits properly could possibly come off that much.

I do not know if this applies to the NFL, but there is a massive problem in College Football this year regarding helmets because of the intersection of two events. The first being the new rule that if your helmet comes off during the play, you have to sit out for ATLEAST the followin play. In addition to this the primary helmet manufacturer changed the design of the helmet to where the side wall where the chin strap connects is thinner, making it weaker and more susceptible to force, making the strap connectors disconnect much easier. This has nothing to do with the fitting of the helmet, it is a design issue, and one that was originally made for safety but is having a side effect.

I do not know if this is an issue in the NFL or not, but it is something to think about.
