The OL wasn't blocking ANY TYPE OF RUN. None at all. Under center, shotgun, nothing worked because the OL was allowing guys through gaps at the snap. That had nothing to do with execution of the play or the read. It had to do with execution of the OL in both pass and run blocking all game long.

I have a hard time focusing on the topic with your "double option" picture of the bikinis.

It is not the spread option, but how everyone performs in it- line needs to block, Cam needs to run it a few times to make the threat real, etc.
Besides, it is one of our few chances to do play action as well.

But we really didn't add play action, at least against Seattle. We were in shotgun formation for 2/3 of our plays (no, that's not a made up number; I charted plays) and very, very rarely showed any kind of run fake.

That is a mistake in my mind, because Cam has a really good play action fake, both coming out under center or faking the read option out of the shotgun. The defense did not have to hesitate that split second to see if it was a run or pass, as we showed pass all the way.

I dont disagree at all. I believe Chud wants to see some rhythm in the read option before he starts to throw in the wrinkles. Just haven't been good enough as a team to pull it off. I think well continue to see it though, even without Kalil.
