Cowherd just trashed Cam

This is why I avoided ESPN thus far today aside from about 5 minutes of Mike and Mike. And i was able to bare that because they basically ignored how horrible we are and only spoke glowingly of how awesome the Giants are... Whew!

But, I knew guys like Cowherd and Bayless would eat this up. Cowherd was tugging all on Cam's balls last year and that's why I knew not to F with him, because just like every other subject in sports, he goes with what's popular at the time and never gives a definitive opinion on anything until he's able to decipher how the masses will react. He says what his audience wants him to say.

And this is why I'm so disappointed in our team as whole - this was our opportunity to shut the haters up. Instead, we gave them more ammo than they could ever know what to do with.

Cam will be fine, but he definitely just dug himself a hole with mainstream media and non-Panther fans (and even some idiotic Panther fans to boot) that will take a long while to get out of.

lol.

You guys do realize Cowherd is baiting you for ratings? He's skip bayless on the radio. He will flip flop his opinion when it is most convienent for a ratings boost.

Don't fall into this garbage.

You forgot to put in that he also said RG3 and Russell Wilson are "better people" than Cam.

Ok, whatever the fug that means.

He didn't say that.

Just that they're better above the shoulders and handle themselves with more maturity.

Agree on Wilson. I know in my heart RG3 is a prick in hiding. Wait and see

He's right about the read option and he means it. It's not for ratings. It is a horse poo offense and our competition is laughing at us

Yeah, because the read option has done NOTHING but fail us all season so far. Do you even watch the games?

Look, I agree that we shouldn't run it as much. It should be a play to be utilized, not a play that is the base of our running attack. However, to say it doesn't work is demonstrably false. Look at the film. When it gets blocked correctly, it works. Pissed that it doesn't work? Blame the OL. Same as any offensive play, really (unless it's a pass, in which case you can argue its a WR or QB).

Was it a horse poo offense last Sunday? Last year?

The read option has the ability to be deadly. The problem is, we do it every play. Tampa set the mold for beating the read option and it is blitz right into it and bring pressure.

Chud needs to make adjustments and run screens, slants and quick outs from the gun, if he wants to keep the pass rush back.

Also, Cam needs to be under center more. I know it is not his forte, but Chud is doing nothing for his development by having him out of shotgun every play.

Cowherd has hated on Cam since the beginning. He hates on any player who plays the game a bit differently than what is accepted by the "old school", especially if their tremendous raw talent is coupled with lots of style and swag. Cowherd is an old school dilweed who doesn't want to see a young talent like Cam succeed. Good thing is Cam doesn't listen to this non-athlete fool who is not qualified to lick cam's boots let alone mention his name on radio.

Cam is LeBron. He's held to a higher standard than other QBs, and he's not allowed to just lose. Analysts and "fans" who envy his athletic ability use his losses to nitpick his personality and mentality. Colin Cowherd is a racist anyway. The stereotypical twirp who grew up envying the jocks who now gets paid to trash them.

I read this without even looking at who wrote it and actually agreed with it. You could have left out your typical trash KT but other than that I think you are right about the media's intrigue in building someone up just for the storyline.

said this last night, hammered, will say it again. I love Cam, never loved a qb more in my entire life, but to pretend like he didn't have a bad game last night (along with the rest of the team) is asinine. He'll bounce back and have a good game against ATL, I have no doubt. Lots of pressure and expectation for a guy who is only in the 3rd game of his second season.

No he hasn't. Has always praised Newton. Always praises his physical abilities. Mentions him with the elite talents in the game.

We are lucky to have Cam. Hopefully we don't waste his talent.

My thoughts on the read option.

Good plays to mix in here or there but not as the base of the entire offense. This joke of faking it on every pass, and for every run Ben predicated on it, it will never work. Ever. I been watching the nfl for too long.

Did I see last year? Um, we went 6-10. Did we not? Not 10-6. It didnt work to perfection. Yes, it beat new Orleans and was good when we were out in front a few scores but we built that lead by throwing it down field. The read option isn't consistent. I can point to opening day in Tampa just as easily when it was a fuging disaster. It doesn't work with any degree of consistency.

Especially against a fast aggressive defense like the giants when we should be screening. I mean how can Chud not know this? He does know this it's just stubborn arrogance of nfl head coach raring it's ugly head.

The biggest problem with this team taking the next step is being a prisoner to this NCAA offense
