Fire Hurney Petition

118 posts in this topic

Jerry Richardson needs to get rid of Hurney, wether it's because of a fan petition, his own cognitive reasoning or a mirage of Jesus in a piece of burnt toast telling him to I don't really care.

Are you sure you can handle a new GM taking a few years to 'rebuild' when you can't even handle two losses?

As opposed to just normal losing?

LMAO I'm going to watch this to see how many people are going to sign it. I'm curious to know how many are serious and how many are just venting their fanboy rage on the message boards.

I signed it.

A few years? Falcons go 4-12 in '07, get a new GM and HC then win 11 games the next season. Turnarounds like that happen ALL the time in the NFL.

Just because the current Panthers FO has been stuck in the "stick with what we got, business as usual" attitude for so long doesn't mean that things can't change dramatically if you get the right guys for the job.

There's no reason this team can't be in the playoffs next season. None. I would say at WORST one more down year before we could have a perennial playoff team, again though, only if you hire guys that know what they're doing.

So with one year's difference we would be using basically the same talent on the field as we have now. That would be talent that Hurney has assembled. Which is it, does he suck or has he assembled the peices for a perennial playoff team?

We don't offer guys the guys we should in the offseason. If another GM is here, he can rework the roster, and pick better FA's. Not the likes of Ajirotutu, Nanee, Colin Jones, Olino Mare, Nakamura.

How many times have petitions had any influence on anything? Ever?

It made the Bobcats change their name to the Hornets. Oh wait.....

The idea obviously would be to make some serious changes to the roster. I know after 10 years of the Hurnster it's easy to get trapped into that "stick with that you got" mindset.

That has a lot more cost involved and the Hornets haven't changed their name yet. As soon as it comes available we're all over it.

Sign me up.

The last 10 years have been piss poor patchworks of defensive units. Gimme a fugin break here, but lets get real. How many superior FA's have we passed upon just because we did not have enough $ left over because we are overpaying our guys. Not for nothing, but id much rather we released CJ and picked up Mario Williams. Hes at least worth the money.

Deangelo too. I love the guy and all but his contributions to the team does not match up with his paycheck. Stew, Goodson and Tolbert would have been a cheaper and just as efficient running game. Imagine we didnt spend the money on deangelo and picked up Manningham or V Jackson with that money we wasted on him?

f[Hurney]+[bad monetary decisions]x[10 years]= losing seasons all around.
