The Charlotte Observer pokes fun at Cam Newton?

Recommended Posts

Why can't we be more like Pitt? NE? Indy? Balt? I have never heard their media bad mouthing their franchise qb like Charlottes did to Cam Newton.

Wow. Really? Roethlisberger was taken to task time and time again for his *ahem* indiscretions.

Ohh yeah? How about the Saints retards that said things like : "I'm sorry to say it, but I wish we still had Williams as DC, he would have had the defense lay some hits on Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire" after we beat them into the ground.

That is a direct quote from Saints Report btw. All fan bases have irrational homer retards. Your hating on the panther fan base is tiresome, we are no different than any other fan base when it comes to team criticism.

LOL...the Saint fans were mocking your QB..They were not mocking their own. You are missing my point. They went after your QB while protecting their own. That is what I'm talking about.

And I don't hate you folks..I'm just extremely disappointed in how much you let your emotions control the energy level. If you don't feel fans energy level play a role in team moral..think again.

Do you seriously feel Eli would be where he's at if the Gaint fans threw him under the bus every time the media attacked him whn he took Kurt Warner's job and took a while to get his feet under him? Remember, it took Eli four years to get it right. And to this day, he still struggles with levels of inconsistancies with his throwing but he has a team that believes in him and they support him.

When the Captain of a team runs to the media and throws his QB under the bus over something as silly as how kid act when his team loses, that is saying we don't respect him because in all honesty Cam wasn't doing anything different than any other QB.

Remember when the media went after Cutler because they knew he didn't like them? When the media got a receiver to throw Cutler under the Bus, how well did that go over with the rest of the team and their season?

[email protected] the one's who hate the kid, trying to justify this bullshit. As far as this "big city's do this all the time" line, stfu. I live in Jersey, the times, the post and the inquirer out in Philly, poke fun and make witty puns, but they don't sabotage their own effort. This is just tasteless.

"Sabotage?"

"Tasteless?"

Man, come on. Aren't you overreacting a bit?

Newton's brought this upon himself. He needs to sack and be a leader, not a front runner.

Yes the criticizing of an alleged rapist is exactly like the Cam criticism currently going on.

Then they were the first to welcome him back after his suspension. Local media are more attention seekers than the national ones.

When he pulls a Lebron....people shouldn't bitch pending he doesn't have an ESPN special on it

He won't pull a Lebron. He won't be able to.

If he continues to progress, then Carolina has the Franchise Tag to use on him. The Cleveland Cavaliers didn't have such a luxury.

On the other hand, if he sucks, then Carolina cuts him loose.

He'll either be a Panther or he won't be, but it most likely won't be his choice.

There is one way to stop the talk.

Do the job.

That statement is meant for the Panthers coaches and players.

A little less talk about what 'we need to do' and a lot more 'doing of what they need to do'.

Newton is a sitting duck in the press and always will be.

The mocking of our QB wasn't the point. You said that we reward bad behavior. I was making a point that these fans wanted to have their DC Williams back so that he could have injured Cam. It was both a shot at their coaching staff and players for playing soft, while simultaneously wishing harm on the opposing team.

Cam is going through what the vast majority of us went through much earlier in life.

Coming to terms with the fact that he cannot single handedly take over a game and lead a team to victory.

Difference being, he has to do it in the national spotlight.

How did he bring it upon himself? Since when is wearing a towel on your head a sign of immaturity?

IMO, the media have divided these NFL players into; their chosen group...Their okay with group...and their well scorned and maligned group. Cam is in the latter. They seem hell-bent on turning Cam into the image they created of him during the draft because just like they go out of their way to prove that they a not wrong about the players they choose to be successful in the NFL. There is no middle ground with them. And, we all know they ripped into Cam like nobodies business during the draft.

Unfortunately some Panthers fans rather feed the media's treatment of Cam then protect him despite them claiming that he's the face of their franchising. I wonder if they seriously believe what they're saying?

My only issue is freaking sell-outs like Charlotte Observers allowing that crap on their paper....no wonder Charlotte doesn't get much of a sports town rep...Any other newspaper, I would not even give it a second look

Just like Peppers.
