So, this is a MAJOR spoiler. It's nothing necessarily detailed, but it does let us know something about a few characters and possibly the outcome of the storyline by the spring season finale and where it could pick up next fall for season 4.

Daryl will not die before the season 3 finale in the spring. He was seen filming, on set, during one of the last film days when they were shooting scenes in Senoia (or Woodbury, as it's known in the show). Also seen there shooting that day were Michonne, Rick, the Governor, Andrea, and while she was not filming, Carol was also on set to watch the filming. One scene in particular is said to have Rick, Michonne, and Daryl on the streets of Woodbury.

How is he a badass? In the comics? On the show all he did was shoot zombies from a window and cry when he saw his zombie wife...

Tvovermind( the same place that reported the Tyrese casting) said he could be making an appearance by the end of season possibly to set up a bigger role next season.

I had that thought once, but I don't think so. I think they're just trying to play Merle up to amplify the Governor's true nature. Make Governor just seem like a Rick-type with a few other things that are obviously wrong with his psyche, but overall, just a normal guy put in an extraordinary situation. Then, slowly, they reveal the Governor for who he is. Since we see what Merle is, that is what we're basing "evil" on, and the Governor will deliver in terms of completely overshadowing that.

I agree, plus the governor did have a few evil cronies with him too. I just really liked how kirkman decided to hold off bringing Merle back until wood berry. He could have brought back Merle by himself in a solo, cameo role....instead he brings him in as the right hand man of the governor.

I also have the feeling that there will be a very different end to the outcome of wood berry/prison thing

He's been confirmed for this season but I don't know how he will be used.

He might be brought back in to the story or might be in a flashback

I think when the bring Morgan in, it'll be the end scene to the season. It'll show him, probably shooting out of the window, and you'll see...something that was in the comics. That's just me.
