Embarrassed by Jerry Richardson again: He was one of the leaders to keep refs locked out

258 posts in this topic

What he is is the man that brought football to Charlotte. Without Jerry, I would not be the least bit surprised if we still did not have an NFL team.

Every single sports team in the United states had an owner who brought that team to that city. So they should all have a free pass and never be called out for hurting the team? That's a second rate organization mindset.

When you ACTUALLY know something about running an NFL franchise your OPINION might be somewhat valid in regard to what it takes to be a good owner.

Until then crawl back in your twitter hole...

So in short

I am content with just having a football team

Why not just trade Cam? Im sure that can go towards building our defense

Accepting mediocrity. The Carolina Panther way. Second rate owner. Second rate gm. Second rate fan base. It's a shame because it really looked like JR had this team in the right direction.

Richardson didn't make some great sacrifice to bring football to Charlotte. It was a business investment and one that he has since made HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS from.

Thank you. Might as well sit at salary floor, higher high school coaches, and keep our mouths shut because JR brought the team to Charlotte.

there are a bunch of different roles being played in union/ownership negotiations. there's your good cop/bad cop dynamic, your attack dogs (richardson), etc.

the whole concept of a union is based on leveraging the power of labor collectively against the much more concentrated power of ownership. poo's going to get ugly and there are players who fall all over the spectrum on both sides. union/business relationships are always antagonistic and it's supposed to be that way because both are trying to protect the interests of the in-group. typically what the union wants (usually more pay, more benefits, etc.) isn't what ownership wants (usually more hours, less pay, fewer benefits, etc.). union bosses or business men who roll over easily are not going to last long. thus, there's a lot of scrapping, fighting, and posturing until things get hammered out.

But it was a monumental accomplishment all the same... and his toughness as a business man played a big part in that.

He led the charge in locking out the players in order to take back money. Why would anybody be surprised that he led the charge to lockout out to take back money from the refs?

Anybody with 2 brain cells who watched his embarrassing press conference last year ("Eye-m moor en-thuuus-eee-asss-tic assss Eyehve ehhhvah beyen ahhhlmost seeyance thuh first time Eye got thuh teem.") should understand that Jerry is an old, out of touch, entitled rich man who's goal in life is to take as much from his employees as he can.

Why do you think we have jersey's from the 90's, stadium music from the 80's, and we have live action commercial breaks rather than encourage fan participation?
