our defense, namely nakamura, blew the game for us.

Not the way we were running the ball. Our short yardage runs were being stuffed all day.
We could spread out 5 wide and toss a flanker screen if its there or run Cam or Stewart, there are things that can be done to clear out the middle of a defense.
Our coaches are just too stupid to realize this.
NE has historically had a field day with short yardage runs going 5 wide.

not going for it on 4th and 1 was the right move. everyone who disagrees is dumb.
our defense, namely nakamura, blew the game for us.
Bill Belichick and his Superbowl rings say hi.
So does Mike Smith, who continued to own us today and went for it on 4th and 1 last year in an even more dire situation (on their own side of the field IIRC) and still made the playoffs.
Dumb. Real dumb.

I know my team, and I knew if we punted the ball we would lose. Just like we did at home against the Saints last year.
What about the Saints two weeks ago??

8 point lead is the same as a 1 point lead.
GTFO of here with that fail, punting would be the correct call if they needed a TD.

While I agree there is a big difference that wasn't my point. My point is the defense made a stand then after getting gashed most of the day. Why wouldn't Rivera think they could make a stand when they actually had been getting a ton of pressure and frustrating Ryan all day....

We were up by 8 points, so I knew we wouldn't lose it, but the offensive play calling at the end of that game was terrible as well.

Right and that also was a game that saw us converting on fourth and less then one inside the 10, so who's to say the same wouldn't have happened today. I've already said if I was the coach I would have gone for it, but I can also fully understand why they chose to punt. It can definitely be argued punting was the right move, while going for it was the ballsy move. I'm just not going to crucify the coaching staff for making a call that the majority of NFL staffs would have made....
