Heisman Race Over?

For him the next couple of weeks.

Assuming he plays out the rest of the season in the same manner he's played so far (huge assumption, but for the sake of argument)...
You can trade Newton to get the number one pick and take Geno Smith.
Do you do it?

For two reasons.
1. Smith is a better player and can mmake the comeback wins.
Checkout the marshall game in 2010.
2. Cam is going to leave carolina first chance he gets. So
Trade him next year and get the #1 pick along with a 2nd.

Cam has shown he can be an NFL QB.
Would not trade.
I think Smith is a phenomenal talent, but so is Newton, even if the W-L record doesn't show it yet.

(yes, I'm aware that Cam's "provenness" is under scrutiny right now, but on general principle...)
Throw in that WVU hasn't exactly produced much in the way of successful pro quarterbacks. There's Jeff Hostetler, and...ummmmm...
Bottom Line: I'm a big Geno Smith believer, but not quite to that level just yet.

chance he gets. People always complain when the Panthers lose a player and get
nothing in return. Well to me this is the safest bet in qb since luck. Team wise I don't
think WVU can run the table. But you look at the big games they played in the past.
Geno has done good in everyone. At the end of the season we will have a better idea.
But right now I would do it.

I remember Chad Johnston actually went to camp with the Panthers but didn't ultimately make it.
Right now nobody believes Newton will leave. I do accept it as at least a possibility.

Guess we don't have to worry about that. Haha thanks nc st
Watch out for Manuel from FSU. If they go undefeated and he maintains his play he might give some stiff competition.

Heck Tavon Austin could be #3 in voting this week.
Which is bad for Smith's chances. You never want two players from the same team in the top five. You're going to laugh hysterically, but I still think Matt Barkley will have something to say here. He still has games against likely top five teams in Oregon, and Notre Dame, and then they will likely play Oregon again in the Pac XII championship. If they win out and he plays well he'll be a huge threat to Geno Smith's Heisman campaign.....

He would be a good canidate. Not sure how the voting but if it is first
Second and third votes right now geno would sweep the first place votes.
Tavon could get the 2nd and 3rd. But again not. Sure how it works
