Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months. The increase represents a rebound from the previous week's sharp drop. Both swings were largely due to technical factors.

The Labor Department says the four-week average of applications, a less volatile measure, fell slightly to 365,500, a level consistent with modest hiring.

Last week, California reported a large drop in applications, pushing down the overall figure to the lowest since February 2008.
This week, it reported a significant increase as it processed applications delayed from the previous week.

"Technical factors" aka bs.

they knew that the numbers were not accurate yet they were still released....conveniently just after the debate.

Should have waited a few days to actually get accurate informaation.....oh wait, that would not have shown a slight decrease (for which the media jumped all over as an indication of recovery).

They knew the data was incorrect, yet the media convenietly chose to ignore that fact. As I said, the media is providing so much air cover for Obama that it is comical.

The jobless rate falling below 8% was the headline news on every station....scrolling along the bottom.

Yet, this correction (which showed that the jobless rate in fact did not dip) is a by line on Page 20.

Waiting for CWG and Zod to try and spin that the liberal media is still not proving ridiculous air cover for the obama administration.

Some would say that about an infatuation with Bush...like the chick in the town hall debate and Obama's excuses.
