My buddies and I want to go camping next week near Asheville NC. Does anyone have any good recommendations of where to go/ stay/ camp sites etc?

Preferably we would like to be near a body of water where we could fish, and a place where we could hike.

Thanks ahead of time for any advice given.

That Hot Springs place is legit. You can rent one of their cabins or camp right on the water. Town is literally right there. The AT is right there too. Def take a hike up lovers leap and try to make it Max Patch.

Down by Brevard there are some good camping spots. Turkey Pen is my fav great hike in and there should be enough camping spots close enough to the parking lot where youre only a mile or 2 in.

Bent Creek Campground is where my pops like to go...awesome place for mountain biking, and hiking.

Ah...Max Patch...all my redneck buddies take their trucks 4 wheeling there.
