Honestly, what is the deal here?
arm tackles, tackling too high, and too worried about trying to strip the ball. The tackling has definitely gotten better though from where it was at the start of the season. Still is horrible
To me, it just seems like our guys don't bring it every game. The Saints game, we missed very few tackles except a couple on Sproles. It was the same for most of the game against the Seahawks. The other games though, we don't bring that same intensity. I also think it has to do with this rudy-poot off season schedule where training camp practice is once a day and has to be less than three hours.
Well there are tons of teams playing great defense and tackling with the same training camp schedule.
Lets not add to our many excuses we have for the abysmal play of this team.
Its kinda funny as this coaching staff had stated that they would be about teaching and focus on fundamentals, yet fundamentals is where this team is struggling most.
Defense in general is built on a foundational and solid defensive line. With a great defensive line in place, everything else follows.
Lions, Saints*, and Panthers are the three worst tackling teams in the league. I hate being in that group. One of the main reasons we can win.
Goes back to coaching or lack there of. Good coaches have teams that tackle well and bad coaches dont.
The thing is, most of these guys WERE good tacklers until this year.
It's perplexing how badly this team has regressed.
Out of position so we are diving and arm tackling. Beason has had some horrible attempts against Gonzalez (where he tries to knock him down instead of wrap up), Brown (too high), and others.
They seemed pretty solid against Seattle...Luke was wrapping up really well
too tired from being on the field so long because the offense has so many 3 and outs.
only halfway joking here
