Who's defensive model should we follow,if we get a new regime?

Beason and Keek not sure if they can handle inside duties in a 3-4, MLB are usually pretty big. CJ would probably do very well at the de spot, his sack totals would go down. Main problem is, we don't have a stand up pass rusher. Sorry but Hardy, CJ or Alexander aren't versatile enough to play OLB.

What ever happened to the swarming turnover machine Rivera implemented in Chicago? Even SD was ranked #1 and that was with an odd front which he never ran before. Not to mention the 4-6 D he learned in his playing days. If it's really McD(i do think so) who is holding back the D, then Rivera needs to step in and take the reigns. His friendship is going to cost him his job.

i don't know that he's "friends" with mcD. i don't know if they ever worked together.

i've heard that mcD was really rivera's second choice and that he really wanted wilks for the job but he chargers wouldn't let him out of their contract. it could be that even though rivera and mcD come from the same JJ 4-3 background, that the two of them just aren't on the same page. wilks has worked with rivera a lot over the years.

all speculation and rumor but hey...if it results in getting on the field what was promised us when rivera got the job and the results that rivera's gotten at chicago and in san diego then i'm all for it.

The one where you tackle people.

That system works the best I hear.

Detroit dline has Suh, Avril, Bosch and Corey Williams. And that defense is absolutely terrible.

What is behind them?

Well if that's true we already have Wilks on board. Time to cut ties with McD and see what Wilks can do. Or look for a position coach from some of the better defenses out there.

i'd be surprised if we made any coaching personnel moves before the season was over.

no sense at this point in firing anyone right now, imo. stick with it till the end of the season and then make your changes. the only guy i could really see moving on from mid season at this point is the STs coach, but even then i can see staying until the season is over.

I didn't mean for anyone to get fired now. Let them ride it out until the end of the season. But someone has to be held accountable. Certainly Rivera is not so the next one in line is McD. They pitched all offseason that our D will turn around with the addition of Keek and key players back from injury, but that has not been the case.

I want a 4-2-5 with Davis playing spur please and thank you! Could also be called base nickel. 2 ILBs 3 safeties.
