Yes. To make things easier for us at FS and WR, we really need to address one of this spot by FA and the other through the draft. I think DT should be made with the draft bc we need to start finding that young DT for the future.

The thing is there's not enough talents at the DT position in FA next year. If I have to say, Alan Branch may be the best man out of that group (Branch, Jason Jones, Henry Melton, Sopoaga, Randy Starks, Glen Dorsey). The receiver position is lacking talents also (excluding Jennings, Bowe, Wallace). But the thing is as long as 89 is playing, I can live with it. What I cant live with is seeing our D getting pound by the running game every Sunday. Ron Edwards is also an old vet who is a liability for us.

I do believe its harder to predict a DT compare to all other positions, but every pick and player is pretty much a hope and cross your finger pick. You just gotta hope it pans out. Brockers and Cox seemed to be playing pretty well as rookies, so its pretty safe to say that Star and Hankins are safe picks. People have told to me that they believed Brockers/Cox are better prospects than Star. Its a joke to me to think that they're better than Star. I even think that John Jenkins UGA is a legit prospect. You cant tell me you dont wanna jizz thinking about having a (Star, Hankins, Jenkins) making life easier for Keuchly in the middle. lol Right?

if we don't pick a DT up in FA, i'd prefer us trade a pick for one...not a first or second, but anything after that would be fine. i don't think they need to be a star...they just have to be able to apply pressure when needed and prevent RBs from going up the middle most of the time.

i think we can get a real game changer who makes a bigger impact in the game at FS or WR than we can at DT. just a matter of preference. if the DT is the legit BPA ahead of WR, FS, or other areas of need, find. i just don't trust early draft pick DTs to make the impact needed right away because i think it takes longer to get them in the swing of things than other positions and i really don't trust their longevity because of potential weight issues, esp. if they are comingi into the league with a history of weight problems. probably the only reason i was high on brockers last year was the fact that he was in such good shape.

yeah, if either star or even jenkins can live up to the potential people think they have it could be great for the DEs and LBs. i'm just very warry of them.

Henry Melton is somebody i wouldnt mind taking a look at. he fits the mold of that athletic UT that can get pressure from the DT spot. think i read a stat were he has 18 sacks in the last couple of years which is decent for a DT. also Glen Dorsey, or Starks.

Melton and Starks would be my first choices. I think Dorsey would be solid and not break the bank. We need to clear some cap and bring in 2 mid-tier FAs and draft the other 2. If we don't this team will hit the shitter again. Time to make some moves.

Right now, I would say our needs are as follows:

1. DT - Shifting Ron and Dwan (maybe resign?) do a depth/backup/mentor role and signing another decent body will strengthen the center of the defensive line.

2. SS/FS - Adding a young, stud safety is essential to rebuilding the secondary. Again, shifting Nakamura to a backup role is key here. Adding a FA safety and a top rookie would be ideal.

3. OT - We need to begin replacing Jordan Gross. I think we can get 1-2 more years out of him, but bringing in a replacement that he can teach will be important.

4 - DE - I love Alexander's talent, Keisier's motor and....Hardy's build, but we if we unload Johnson somehow, we should look to add a pass rush specialist at defensive end. If we keep Johnson, our next need is a receiver.

5. WR/TE - Take your pick. I think an heir for Steve is important over the next two years, but adding depth at TE is important too. I'd be happy with either, but another stud receiver could seriously strengthen the offense. I rather add a solid WR in free agency and draft a guard here.

If our Defense can continue pressuring QBs like they have been lately, I think we should go WR in the first. I am loving our last draft with Frank Alexander/Luke/Norman on Defense.
