OT (Gross is declining and we need his replacement before he retires so he can teach)
WR (Cam needs his Marvin Harrison who will be there and grow with him for a decade)
FS (Though I think S is usually easier to address in free agency than most positions)
OG (Again, free agency if there isn't a good prospect on the draft board)

WR - Our WRs are struggling to get open when faced with quality DBs.
FS - Nakamura and Martin doesn't cut it.
CB - Thomas and Norman has done a decent job. But captain is a FA & I'm not sure if Gamble'l be back.
OT - Need to bring in Gross's successor.
DT - Need some depth here. A stud like Star will do nicely.

i'm in this boat, not feeling dt's are particularly worth a high first round, with the exception of a handful of guys. It is definitely a need but they do usually take a while to be worth the pick.the needs that we have in the trenches i just think are too important to spend gambling and trying to develop draft picks. i would rather have someone who is ready to hit the ground running and i trust that with vets more than i do rookies.
i'd like for us to get in a position because of FA and trades that we could draft the BPA without worrying about holes getting filled.

i think for teams that aren't in "win now" mode or who don't have a lot of holes to fill, it's a sound direction.i'm in this boat, not feeling dt's are particularly worth a high first round, with the exception of a handful of guys. i just don't think we can afford to pick players that aren't ready to start right away. rookies on the OL or at DT usually play their rookie year like they are on roller skates, regardless of where they are drafted. it's only a few among the very elite that that doesn't happen to.
this team has to find a way to win soon.

FA Acquisitions:
1. OG (Big problems in the trenches. Need to keep Cam upright if we are to improve any)
2. DT (The Edwards duo has played well but both are up there in age)
3. FS (No explanation needed)
Top Draft Picks:
1a. LT (Gross has lost a step or four- draft his successor and move him to RT)
1b. WR (Even if we have to trade back in to the 1st, we need to get an explosive number 1 WR this year)

We have one of the best DE'S rotation in the league, are DT'S cannot get any kind of push up the middle which is why you see Hardy playing DT.Oh yeah didn't a rookie Bryce Brown just run all over us???Gee I wonder why!!!
The first pick should be either DT or OL.Gross is getting old & slow not to mention where paying him so much so if we go OL it would probably be Jockel which makes a perfect situation to release or trade Gross.
We should go after Byrd of the Bills to feel the FS whole & save a pick. Also if we have enough money look to add Henry Melton, but probably Glenn Dorsey or Alan Branch because there cheaper.
WR is not a need until Cam Newton can prove he can stay in the pocket & make the correct reads. He over throws are WR so much or holds onto the ball way to long & don't try to tell me because WR aren't open.Thats BS!!!
Its like everybody saying Blackmon was a bust & couldn't separate. Now look he has a QB getting him the ball & he's put up more yards in 2 games then he had the whole year.A WR is only as good as the QB delivering the ball & right now Cam is not delivering.
By drafting 2 DT & adding 1 through FA we could have one of the best front 7 in the league which would only help are secondary.
Pay attention to the games then you might see exactly what is going on in front of you. This is a top heavy defensive draft.

Ron is gone, too expensive and injury prone, but Dwan will be here next year. He is cheap,
and is playing very well. I'm not against drafting at DT in the first 2 rounds, but we have far greater needs than getting 2 in the first 2 picks.
