Well the offensive line coach to defensive coordinator experiment is finally over....hope he takes the Wide 9 with him.

Andy Reid fired Juan Castillo as defensive coordinator Tuesday morning and replaced him with veteran cornerbacks coach Todd Bowles, CSNPhilly.com has learned.

Castillo was in his second year as defensive coordinator after 13 years as offensive line coach. He initially joined the Eagles as an offensive assistant in 1995 and had been on the Eagles’ coaching staff longer than any coach in franchise history.

This hire was dumber than dumb to begin with. Who ever signed off on this move to begin with should be asked to follow him out the door.

That would be Reid...not really a hire but Reid moved him from O-line coach to D-coordinator and Reid may follow him out the door just as you suggest when all is said and done. Castillo was actually the longest tenured coach on the team.

Todd Bowles will be better - probably much better - as DC.

And honestly, I'd take Castillo as an OL coach in a heartbeat.

Reid should be fired if the Eagles dont win a playoff game this season. They havent won one since 2008 (McNabb was their QB)

I agree with what KT just said. The owner came out publically at the end of last year that Reid's job was on the line and winning was the only option for him to keep it. I would say 80% of Philly fans have wanted Reid gone for a couple years at least. I am not necessarily one of them.

Always fires anyone who may make him look bad in any way at all....hires unqualified people for positions so they can be easy scapegoats....smart walrus!

Weird hire but the defense is not the problem in philadelphia. It's really tough to win when you turn the ball over as much as vick does.

You would have an awful lot of money tied up in RB's for a coach that doesn't believe in running the ball. If Reid leaves I see him going to the Los Angeles Charger.....errrr I mean San Diego Chargers.
