Alexa was once useful - but they inexplicably updated their algorithm for tracking a few years ago and has never worked the same since.

For instance, a site I help work for published an article on pirate myths about a year ago and for a while 'the pirate bay' was #1 over the site itself by a large margin. Even now it still makes the top 3:
