First you probably want to come up with a plan for how we could clear enough cap space to sign him.

Won't happen. Heard Steve Smith had an argument with Hurney because he wanted the team to have only one Pro Bowl Caliber WR and went to JR about it. Now it's forbidden.

we need a guy that can vie for the number one receiver regardless of who's on this team. and we are terrible at drafting receivers.

i'd give up a second for him, and i'd consider a first if they packaged in a third or a fourth.

Not a bad idea. He's put up good #'s with guys like Cassel throwing him the ball. He's big, physical and has good hands. Would be a nice compliment to Smitty.
Too bad we don't have the cap space to get him.
Also, we don't have a 3rd rounder this year(Hurney Magic) so I don't see a trade for him unless we get picks back as well.

The asking price would be too much. Still he'd be our #1 with Smitty moving over to the slot. Cam to Bowe would be amazing. Again, I highly doubt this happens.
