Republican plan over the past few decades...

Cut Taxes
Spend More

At least democrats try to pay for what they spend.

tax payers don't make enough to pay for all the gov spending period. thats the problem. you could take it all and it would never be enough. And i hope qe3 is not qualified as attempting to pay for what they spend. Truth is dems and reps never payed for a thing in thier lives. We do!

lol i can't believe people still tell this lie.

so, you take the 2009 budget that took effect before the 2008 election, add a trillion dollars to it 6 months later, then blame bush because it was "technically" his budget.
prevent budgets from being written so you automatically get the same amount the next year.

"spending gwoth shlowed down!!!"

that would be like a republican saying the iraq war didn't add to the debt because it wasn't included in the budget.

The nice thing about numbers are that you don't have to like them for them to add up.

Our ruling

The Facebook post says Mitt Romney is wrong to claim that spending under Obama has "accelerated at a pace without precedent in recent history," because it's actually risen "slower than at any time in nearly 60 years."

Obama has indeed presided over the slowest growth in spending of any president using raw dollars, and it was the second-slowest if you adjust for inflation. The math simultaneously backs up Nutting’s calculations and demolishes Romney’s contention. The only significant shortcoming of the graphic is that it fails to note that some of the restraint in spending was fueled by demands from congressional Republicans. On balance, we rate the claim Mostly True.

You mad?
