Our best ST coach was run out of town because he wasn't sweet enough to the players.

This team needs a tenacious attitude and while I do support signing and drafting "nice guys" I do think this is the other side of that coin.

I still stand by my thought this team needed to be gutted and the "core" redefined when Fox left. Hurney pretty much drafted Cam and maintained the core was the same.

I think the entire team could of used a different vibe. Team overall has always come across to nice and soft. Smith excluded. D especially. OL as well.

Maybe Smith shouldn't be excluded based on the story Rozinski told the other day.

How does the adage go again?

Preach in public, criticize in private?

It's not that they can't take the cursing, it's that they're tired of it. We all know how bad tuning a coach out can be. Makes me think of Vernon Davis, Moss, or T.O. sitting on a bench paying no attention to the coach talking to them.

I'd be chewing some ass too. We've got a soft bunch of players. But Ruvera has to be sitting there going "Damn..." Take away Cam and he is In a horrible situation.

- Wants a BofA home field advantage- Negative
- wants guys to gt healthy and play- Negative
- Wants a vertical attack offense- Negative
- Wants to avoid testing depth early- Negative
- Wants the "process" to get better- Negative

If this is true, (regardless if players are being vaginas about it or not) then he's already losing this locker room... And that boys and girls is NOT a good thing at all. Even if one player in my opinion feels the way that the OP states.... This ain't good at all.

My opinion: you don't want to get cursed out, then do your fuggin job, and you don't get cursed out!

Marty's core group is the problem. They are old, well paid, injured, and soft.

two common denominators in Moss and TO... Vernon Davis is a bad example...

Rivera will soon get frustrated when he wants to cook a nice meal but can't shop for the groceries, and the guy who does the shopping would rather grow his own shitty crops in the backyard then buy the proven quality product at the store.

Damn, did I go deep into that analogy or what? It's like Inception, hope I can find my way out.

So... I know I don't do this often, but you should know you can trust me. I was the one who told you Pep didn't "respect" the "coaches"... and he's no longer here. I was the one who first told you Otah would not be a Panther this year... and he is not. My family knows someone on the staff that talks to players daily. Since the players give their trust to this person, I will not name names. Hell, I shouldn't even make this thread. But screw it.

Anyway, this person gave someone in my family an interesting nuggest recently. They said that one of Rivera's approaches toward the players is going poorly. Why? According to the players themselves, Rivera chews them out with an insane amount of profanity all the time. And the players are starting to "tune him out". That ain't good, folks.

It looks like Rivera is doing things behind closed doors, while he's robotic on the field, but he can't seem to do it in a positive way yet.

Maybe Rivera needs to direct his profanity at Chud and McDerm as well. If the players are "tuning him out" it probably has more to do with lack of confidence in Rivera knowing how to win games than profanity. Losing creates complaining and dissension. Do all the players feel this way ?
