A cpu or laptop for gaming. Need a new system. Any help appreciated.

I would think a custom bulit gaming rig cpu would have the most upside for gaming besides laptop being portable.

Desktop for sure if portability isn't a big deal for you. Gaming laptops are nice, but after a couple years when the tech becomes obsolete you have to start over. With a desktop you can band aid it by adding more memory one time, then a new proc/vid card, then eventually rebuild all together with a new mobo/proc/vid card etc....

Desktop for sure and newegg is your friend. If you post your budget/the kind of games you are looking to play then a lot of us gamers would help you find what you're looking for.

Desktop for all the reasons stated above.

Laptop is fine for older games if you game at highway rest stops.

Desktop. Faster, upgradable, cheaper.
