Samuel L. Jackson

So... the NRA called last night...

....wanting me to join...

I basically was very cordial and answered his questions honestly...

He asked if I had been out shooting lately, and I said I hadn't had time...

He then asked if I was aware of all the legislation floating around about Clinton-era limitations... I said I was...

He then asked if I would rather join for 2 years, or for one year... I said I didn't want to join... He asked why not, considering I was well aware of all they were trying to do to control guns... I told him because I knew how to write my congressmen to voice my opinions... He then said that they couldn't control the entire congress' decisions... I then said that they could come and try to take my guns if they wanted, and that I was not concerned...

Then he tried to sell me an NRA membership again... twice more before he finally realized I didn't want one...

It's just funny that this is one thing I am pretty far to the right about... I am all for people arming themselves, and the government having limited control over it...

However, it kind of turns me off to your cause when you keep begging for money...

Hmmm... NRA membership or a few nice dinners at a sit-down restaurant?

I'm pretty pro-gun rights but the NRA can suck it.

Does that mean God has to buy one membership or three?

They're mildly annoying at times, but we have to have NRA memberships to have a membership at our shooting range. I don't think I would otherwise.

Maybe I shouldn't renew it though. Heaven knows, I can't afford 5 points off my IQ.

Just stay away from an ACLU membership. Otherwise you will lose another 15 points.

    • And yes, Smitty would've been absolutely hell on wheels in MMA.
    • Smitty would've tried to have literally killed Talib for that poo he pulled on Philly in the SB.
    • SSDs are mostly good if you need fast read or write speeds, eg watching or editing large files like raw audio or video.  They won't help much for standard stuff, and are one of the larger premium price points.  They are very nice in that they produce less heat and are more stable, no spinning discs, but you won't notice much of a performance gain for general use. The biggest bang for your buck is RAM.  I always get as much RAM as I can afford.  That will improve performance of everything on the system.  Upgrade CPU/cores next, for overall performance. Again, depending on what you're doing, the graphics card can make as big a difference as anything else.  That's mostly for gaming and video playing/editing, however.  But with more and more video streaming going on, the graphics card can be very helpful to improve performance and quality.
