Gotcha.

If things remain true to form, only defensive coordinators need apply should an opening exist.

I'm not about to bet that one will.

My preferred coach is someone with Head Coaching experience, either in college or the NFL. Someone with experience managing the clock, timeouts, subordinates, etc. I know our MO is to go after coordinators, but a college HC won't have the growing pains of learning these things like someone that's never had to do so. I think I'd rather go after a college HC than someone like Gruden or an ex-NFL HC, but either way would work for me.

And just for the record, I'm not convinced Rivera is gone after this season.

I'm sure as heck not convinced Hurney is gone.

I don't know if I can agree with you on this. Things have really got that bad for a coaching change.

Yea, I have a feeling JR will pleasantly surprise us with sweeping changes after this season. I fully expect all the staff, from Hurney down, to be replaced unless there's a drastic improvement (that doesn't just include whipping shitty teams at the end of the season when it doesn't matter).

My only fear is that he persists with the "must hire a DC to be our HC" mantra.

I think it's about time for an avatar change, Mr. Scot.
