"To think that someone so involved in every aspect of the NFL negotiations would then turn around and be hands off on his own team is preposterous.
Jerry Richardson walked away from the NFL over $1,000 on pricinple. He squandered a season because he did not want to pay players in his lock out or fire Fox because he was still under contract. He says he has a responsibility to his share holders....who are those shareholders? Hugh McColl or the 70,000 people that show up every Sunday to watch Jerry's team under perform."

From: Panthro

"The example was originally set by Richardson, through his instructions to Hurney, so he could build a warchest and ride the Lockout as long as it took to break the players. 0-16 was fine with him as long as it meant he had leverage over the NFLPA."
From: Carolina Husker

This and this...
I've been ranting about this for a few years now and, finally, it's getting some notice.

And just to keep the game of football (not the business, mind you, but the game) in perspective- perhaps it would take nothing more than cheap, high quality jerseys to turn the Panthers around.

Jordan Gross and Chris Gamble are perfect examples, especially Gross. For him to be the highest paid Panther this year, losses just roll off his Back like nothing now.

I was saying this too since before the lockout. The last time they were letting all our veterans go. I was told I was wrong, that JR was the best owner on earth. Do you really believe that, after cleaning house, JR truly thought we could have a winning season? He didn't care, it was about the money and the CBA. This is what John Fox fought against in his last year. This is what gave Steve Smith his "trade me", "I'm not helping anyone" attitude. And firing Hurney is just a continuation of this. As was pointed out, it cost him nothing. An owner like JR can't help but create a losing environment. I've seen it with other teams when the money becomes more important than the team. Bills, Titans, Chargers.

The PSL's probably have had an impact but we're now not the only team with PSL's. The Giants sold PSL's and they've won 2 Super Bowls since then. Tampa Bay had PSL's and it didn't help them at all.

lol We need to start wearing the black jerseys. Just stop wearing the ghey white uni's and never ever wear the blue more than once. Black (as in panther, see?) should be our color.

I believe in this team. I believe Rivera can turn us around. Team backbone of cold steel! I believe Cam will make the game fun again for his teammates and the fans.

We have to dump as many veterans as financially possible. They are all been infected with the loser virus and there is no cure. Get them out of here before they infect our young players.

So you are saying that guys like Kalil, Gross, Gamble have losing mentalities?????

I guess I still think of Kalil as being a young guy, even though you're right he isn't anymore. Gross i think so but maybe he is just getting old and losing a step. Gamble is definitely one of the biggest losers on this team.
