Al Wallace/Frank Garcia brought up some interesting points:
  • Cam needs to keep his mouth shut, quit pouting and quit trying to be "cool"
  • Chud needs to commit to the run and quit all the chute stuff
  • Al played under Rivera in Philly and said his coaching style is not being emotional but in his experience Rivera was a good coach that knows his stuff as a Defensive coach but is unsure how he would be as a head coach
  • Frank spoke with Hurney after he was fired and Hurney stated one of the major problems is there is not a leader on offense
  • Frank and Moose agreed Chud need to find an offensive identity and stick to it.Best was is to commit to the power running attack and wear the opponents defense down More crossing patterns that Cam can make and have him getting more snaps under center.Frank said he lost confidence when the question was ask of Rivera what was wrong and he did not know
In summary we have a train wreck with multiple problems.

Another interesting tidbit I heard on the morning show was that in the 10 plays that they ran the read option against the Cowboys, they averages 4.6 ypc (it was 4.something) but in the normal power run formation they ran 5 times for a 1.8 ypc. Not sure if it was that way in other games but it is interesting.

Of course this all goes back to what they are saying about having an identity. Commit to the normal run formation and I am sure that would not be the trend.

That's because of Cam's long run.

Thanks, I've been interested to see just how many times they use the option. While I would rather see it ever, it has been thrown around here that it is the base offense. 10 out of 68 plays does not make it the base offense any more than 10 3-4 looks makes you a bas 3-4.

Regardless, it's garbage outside of a sneaky look at it here and there.

Leaders on the field come from good leaders at head coach and OC/DC.

Me too. "Shutup" about what? He was asked a question and he answered it and he said he wasn't the OC.

When you win.. Everyone is a leader and Rivera would be considered a cool unflappable coach.

This is still a better season than the last few years of Foxie-Davidson.

Al Wallace can eat a d*ck. He was part of the loser culture while he was here. He was so happy to be on an NFL roster that he welcomed up and down seasons and loved the fact that he was never part of a consistent winner. Cam has never lost and he hates it. I hope he never gets used to it here.

Yes, the loser culture that played in the Superbowl, an NFC Championship game. The loser culture that won 4 road playoff games and 2 home playoff games.

Seriously, if you don't know what you are talking about, please just keep to yourself.

Is that the same culture that produced zero back to back winning seasons? This is the same culture that loved getting people off the scrap heap and then when it stopped working you all hated Hurney for ignoring the free agent market. Yeah that is the same theory of operating this organization that has us at 1-5. You fools can eat one too.

I personally respect him and agree with him.He was not bashing Cam just calling him out as well as others for his statements and attitude. He said that defenses will key in on it and use it against us.
He also complimented LaFell on his comment that "we just need to do our jobs" and leave it at that. Its all on how the media is managing him not him managing the media .

As far as his culture and him as a player I thought he did what we brought him in to do and did well.

Against the Cowboys, we were in the shotgun for 48 of 59 plays (didn't count the spike in the 4th.

Of those 59 plays, 35 were passes, 20 were runs, 2 were scrambles (designed pass plays that broke down) and 2 were sacks.

Of the 20 runs, 14 were read option with a total gain (approx) of 65 yards. 4 of the runs were I-formation for a total of 8 yards (approx). The other 2 were pitches out of the gun for no gain.

Hope this helps.
