Never tried them before, but want to. Think it'd be cool thing for special occasions. They always smell so good when other people have them.

Any suggestions on what to try first?

yeah cuban if you can get your hands on a real one.

Otherwise, try a mild one like a Partagas. Head over to McCrainies at Park Road Shopping center. They'll help you out.

Prepare to taste ass in your mouth for a day after

Dominican cigars are good. Almost as good as Cubans, without that pesky embargo thing. I would recommend going to a good tobacco/cigar shop in your area and talk to them. They will be able to give you something that suits your tastes.

I would recommend Romeo Y Julieta for someone just starting out. You can find some nice mild, smooth RYJs to ease you into the cigar smoking experience. And pretty much any cigar place would sell them.

just make sure it's moist... don't smoke anything that cracks when you squeeze it.

buy something with a high turnover rate.
