It's true that Stafford is facing a more unprecedented slump statistically( 5000+ yards, 41 TDs in 2011) but I think the reason he isn't being destroyed as badly as Newton is demeanor. Regardless of how you feel about Newtons and Staffords play and 2012 records, one is looking really, really bad about how they are handling it. People know how bad Stafford has been playing but Stafford doesn't give the media the template for hate Cam has. If Cam and Stafford want to be compared simply on play than Cam can't keep acting the way he does after a loss.

I'm sorry, I just don't understand why people care so much about how Cam acts after a loss... in my opinion (not that it matters obviously) I think he acts perfectly fine after a loss. Is he supposed to come out giddy as hell that they managed to lose the game when they had every opportunity to win it? The media would definitely have a field day with that. The game plan has just seemed to be non-existent every Sunday and that can have a toll on the players psyche, especially those as young and exposed as Cam. I think it's pretty obvious there's something wrong with this team if you watch each person's individual behavior, not just Cams.

Hell, Cam could come out and do the hokey pokey for all I care... it's really not going to change the fact that we just lost and I doubt it's going to have any bearing on the game coming the following Sunday. The Cam-haters, not that I'm calling you that just the media in general, have been waiting on a chance to pounce on Cam since his unprecedented rookie season and now all they can manage is, "Oh, he pouts in his press conferences and is going through a slump because his numbers aren't as pretty as last year," when in reality Cam's play hasn't really been as bad as they like to make it (minus the Giants game, everyone fuged up there), he's just made some bad mistakes in inopportune times. Other than those few mistakes I think it's safe to say you can chalk the rest of his offensive woes up to the pop-warner play calling that Chud can't seem to let go of.

P.S. I'm white, and I think that the post-Giants presser was the only real questionable one.

I wish our QB was as classy as Stafford. His demeanor is great. The type of guy you wouldnt mind your daughter dating. Im sure if Cam took pics with scantily clad girls, kegs, looking drunk and high, shades on, flipping the bird no one in the media would make a big deal about it.

Truth is nobody really cares about stafford. The guy had a monster season last year and did not make it to the pro bowl... but guess who did... Cam. While both were having good years last year Cam got wayyyy more attention and positive attention than stafford. So it goes both ways... When both are great expect Cam to get the most media attention, and in turn when both are not so great expect Cam to get more negative attention. The media only cares about interesting teams/players.

Caveat... I meant offensively. LOL

EDIT: I actually thought I wrote it in the original post, but I didn't.

Makes more sense. As shitty as our defense is at times, I don't think people give them enough credit for keeping us in some games.

Yeah man, I never thought we'd have more positive things to say about the defense than the offense at any time coming into this season... But we do.

Offensively, Cam is the only one enabling us to score points. Outside of him, I don't know of anyone we can count on every week (I would say Smitty but WRs aren't guaranteed to get touches every game).

But, defensively, there's a lot of positive things going on, or at least things to build on. At least if they're bending, they aren't breaking.
