Yeah, I've always argued that they should get paid. People want to say they're getting an education like every other student, but the difference is, non-athletes aren't risking their health on a daily basis for that education.

Wait what? If athletes get injured, that doesn't mean they can't get an education.

In terms of paying college athletes, I don't care one way or the other, but I would think that argument would be hard to sell.

You're right, but they came to the school to play FOR the school and get an education. So there is more inherent risks associated with their earning of an education compared to a non-athlete. So they can still get an education, but if they suffer a long-term injury because of their obligations associated with earning it, they should be paid for it.

I say this with the premise that most college athletes wouldn't be considered, nor would they consider the schools they attend, if they weren't athletes.

He had ligament damage but apparently nothing was torn and it's a dislocation of the knee.
