Why Ron?

Medlock 5/5 in hindsight and you need to give the kicker the chance to hit a 51 yard FG.

He got a 45 yarder in off a lucky bounce. I seriously doubt he would've been able to make the FG at the end of the half

Medlock was the majority of our scoring today. The problem wasn't about not taking a shot at a FG at the half. The problem is having to take a field goal FIVE times today.

Coaching ineptitude. If he didn't have confidence in Medlock he should've made a move for a Kicker sooner in the offseason instead of trying to "wait it out" until he was "left with no choice" but Mare.

It was apparent from the beginning it was "his" guy and he did everything possible to coddle him.

I am totally in agreement with you guys. I knoew it was gonna come back to hurt us. What do you have to lose. Try the fg...you make it great....you miss that's fine. Like you said much better than a hail mary. Hope someone asks him the reason behind not going for the fg. Extremely pissed!!!

Yeah it really goes without saying that that was a questionable move and combined with the previous record of "questionable" moves...

I told myself after that if the game was lost by a field goal or less, it was going to be all on Rivera. Absolutely no reason to make a strategic mistake like that when we had a hot shoe in Medlock today. And guess what happened...

I was for letting Rivera go after the end of the season...now I want him gone ASAP. I hope JR realizes that his employees need to be held accountable for their actions or else...

they're was no reprecussions if he missed it, so why not try it. It had a better chance then a hail mary....that was my arguement in the chat room. Still prolly wouldnt of made it but its the end of the half got take a risk sometimes.

The chances of him making the 51 yard FG was a lot better than a Hail Mary

Plus...my guess his decision was made based on pregame warmups. Wind was not at his back.

the chance of making that hail mary is pretty close to 0%

try the field goal, you miss it, so what. give yourself a chance at points

This should make you feel better:

No coach since 2002 has thrown a Hail Mary instead of attempting a 51 yard FG. That's not bombastic statement. It's fact. 16/16. 12 made FG

Wind or no wind, the field goal is a higher percentage play than a hail mary thrown out the back of the end zone!
