The No FG Attempt at End of Half

Bigger issue was Olsen not helping Cam out. They probably would've gotten a FG

Medlock is known for having a big leg on FGs. Being short wasn't a problem.

I am not so sure, the wind can do funny things with the ball. And there is always the uprights to hit to set up a return.

Well Rivera is making history at least, historically the dumbest coach in the NFL.

Simple.

Odds of making a 51 yard FG vs odds of converting a 51 yard pass for a TD.

Yeah, he made the right move, lol.

the chance of making that hail mary is pretty close to 0%

try the field goal, you miss it, so what. give yourself a chance at points

Especially given that Cam did not even put the fuging ball in the field of play. He threw it into the stands behind the end zone....his accuracy had been poo this season.

You are missing to point

Odds of giving up points by making a hail mary vs odds of giving up points by kicking 51 yards in windy conditions.

LOL No, I'm not...

Your odds of an intercepted hail mary or a short FG being returned for a TD combined are still probably much, much less than making the 51 yard FG.

Not to mention Cam thew it out of the field of play... That made your odds of anything good coming out of the pass attempt to 0%.

This should make you feel better:

Colin@ColinWFNZ

No coach since 2002 has thrown a Hail Mary instead of attempting a 51 yard FG. That's not bombastic statement. It's fact. 16/16. 12 made FG

You're not making this loss any easier with facts like this. God this is depressing.

The wind was at his back.. he could have made it easy!

I don't think that is true. When I saw the flags, the wind seem to going from side to side, and it was gusting up to 30 mph. A field goal under those circumstances was highly unlikely. And I don't think that pass was really a hail mary, not from the 35 yard line.

Fwiw, I would have liked to see them hit Stewart or Tolbert at the 10 yard line or so, and give the rb a shot at running it in.

I was wondering if the wind got under Cam's pass?

Why Ron?

Medlock 5/5 in hindsight and you need to give the kicker the chance to hit a 51 yard FG.

because rivera is a fuging idiot

considering carolina normally takes a knee in that situation, I'm fine with a hail mary attempt.
