We had a timeout to burn... why not use it?

Answer: our head coach is one of the worst clock/game mangers ever!

he didnt ice him because the wind wa sblowing hard at the time, giving rivera a better chance of chicago missing the FG. Calling a timeout, the wind could have died down.

We didnt do it because of what happened in atlanta. We iced the kicker and he took a practice kick and missed.

That has backfired on some teams. Non issue for me.

statistically icing the kicker doesn't do anything.

Icing the kicker is worthless. Glad we didn't.

the chance a kicker makes a game winning field goal actually goes up a few percentage points when "iced"

Icing the kicker doesnt really work, its just something coaches do to feel like they are doing something

On one hand, either way we would hate RR. On the second hand, isn't this common practice and a no-brainer! I don't know about the wind issue... but i'd rather try to psych out the kicker than wait on good wind.

Don't worry about this, it was the right call. I'm "hoping" he was waiting on the wind and if it died down he would timeout, since it was blowing it was the right call. Find one of the other 25 reasons to blame RR instead of this (there are at least that many).

icing the kicker never works ... they expect it and get a free kick. I have seen so many kicks after the whistle this year.
