What is the story? I never read anything about what happens after part 6

I always heard rumors that Lucas had more of the story written but I doubt it. Ask Scrum.

They could go back in the Old Republic, they could do more Clone Wars stuff, they could do post RoJ... There's a ton of good books by Zahn and others they could base it on...

If Lucas had anything I'd scrap it... His writing sucks.

I freaked out when Disney bought Marvel and it ended up being much a do about nothing. All Disney did with Marvel was make them cancel all of their current cartoons and then make new ones to air on their networks. So the biggest news out of this is that the Clone Wars cartoon might be coming to an end. I guarantee that they won't be taking create control from George Lucas which is what most fans would want.

Except that they just announced that they will release a movie in 2015 and Lucas has said for years that he was done with movies... So why buy it if youre not gonna make the money back?
They ain't gonna make $4B back selling existing toys and videos...

I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies but I can guess when I do get around to watching them it'll have a mouse as the main character.

Looks like Lucas is giving up control and will only be on as a 'creative consultant'. Big potential.

Milking the cow it seems. Star Wars is George Lucas. They should just start a new IP instead, but that would take creativity and risks, something hard to come by these days.

Ol' Walt bought all the follow on books of the Wizard of Oz.

Disney has never done anything wiht them except a cartoon version of "The Marvelouys Land of Oz", entitiled "Return to Oz"

Not Owned by Disney:Owned the rights tby Disney:
I was always surprised Eisner never did anything with them.

After "John Carter" I think Disney can handle the Star Wars Saga.

lol no

I think we can all agree that Empire is the best Star Wars movie and it was neither written nor directed by Lucas. Lucas did the story, Irvin Kershner directed and Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett penned the screenplay.

with a competent director and a good screenplay, I think the potential is there to wipe the collective bad taste out of fans mouths that the prequels undoubtedly left everyone.

skeptical of the outcome but this is most definitely the best thing for the franchise. I expect them to adapt some of the post-return of the jedi books into movies (Heir to the Empire trilogy anyone?) ...... which I will definitely be looking forward to.

In the movie world we have right now of almost all sequels and mostly terrible 'original' IPs...i think i'm excited.

Just announced that Michael Bay is attached. Not a bad choice tbh.
