After a loss Cam did the same poo last year....media wasn't all over it as much.
Cam was hot and cold last year......great one week and erratic the next. He is still on pace to make comparable "big plays"......difference was there was a great ground attack to help during his lulls last year. Meant chains moved more often and more opportunities (which explains his TDs being down).
If he was slumping his yard per pass and yard per rush would not both be BETTER this year. Offense has slumped.....which is different.
Last year, Cam had a lot to work on.....still does. What hurts this team is the step backwards in OL, rushing attack and playcalling. Cam pretty much is bringing the same thing to the table as last year (expeditions make that look like a step backwards)
Actually, lost in all the carping about how the read option has hurt the Panthers are some undeniable facts:
This season the Panthers have attempted a whopping 42% of their passes on 1st down.
They have completed 68% (tremendous) for a stunning 10.33 yards per ATTEMPT!!!
They are the most dangerous first down team in the league..(.they were NOT last year)...
Cam Newton's first down numbers are WAY up this year...a product of installing the read option which creates tremendous uncertainty on first down for opposing defenses...
The problem, though:
On SECOND down they are completing 50% of their passes...
On third down they are completing 49% of their passes...
With all due respect...those are The Golden Calf of Bristol type numbers...
Sooo...if there is an incompletion on first down (egads !!!)
Or a rushing attemtept for a short gain (horrors !!!)
The Panthers are a team that just cannot get it done on SECOND or third and anything resembling long yardage.
The read option was IMHO a bad idea, but blaming all the Panthers offensive woes on it is just absurd.

Chud is and the coaching staff are the same ones who told Cam he couldn't have a wristband and had to memorize the plays.
how long ago was this? why the hell wont Chud give Cam a wristband with the plays if Cam asks for it

- Crappy team
- Crappy fan base in a fishbowl market
- Plays in a stadium that is pwned by every other fan base in the NFL creating ZERO home field advantage.
- Hometown haters
- 3 more years of dealing with it
- No beer men in the 500 level
Honestly I can't blame the guy.

Here are the reasons for his attitude:

- Hometown haters

LOL...In other words...it's EVERYBODY'S FAULT EXCEPT POOR CAM'S...INCLUDING THE FANS !!!
I CAN'T BELIEVE A FRANCHISE BASED IN CHAROTTE, NC HAD THE AUDACITY TO DRAFT A PLAYER OF NEWTON'S CALIBRE !!!
Maybe Newton will get a chance to go play for the Jets. The only non-rookie QB he is outplaying right now is Mark Sanchez...LOL...
