if williams were to be traded, you'd hear about it immediately.

Yea I am sure he'd tweet it as soon as he knew - I meant trades in general.

One reason I could see them keeping DW is for the possibility of them bringing in a new coaching staff next year. He doesn't fit this staff's offense, but he may fit the next one!

I think it's fair to say they were open for business, but nobody came knocking. RT @aboyd817: aka, we tried but couldn't trade anyone.

Jonathan Jones@jjones9

Though he appears to be remaining in Carolina, DeAngelo declined to comment on trade talks. Said he'll comment on his Twitter at 4:05

No Jonathan Jones... He had no comment for you. He did however have a comment for ESPN... Can be found here:

rotoworld...

Panthers acting GM Brandon Beane insisted Thursday afternoon that he is "not trading anyone."

The trade deadline is an hour away as of this update. DeAngelo Williams was considered one of the prime candidates to be moved. The Panthers were reportedly willing to swallow the salary cap hit in a trade, but they haven't received a draft-pick offer to their satisfaction. Williams is fully expected to be released in the offseason.
