I stopped reading at "i don't have any proof whatsoever"

If you did that in the Huddle, you would only read about 3 posts a day.

I'm getting the feeling no one will be traded

Its Wednesday so barring some team asking for more than we expect, I just don't see anything going down

The key is having a smart enough organization to trade him BEFORE a massive contract extension. Of course no one is taking on his contract. Hurney was a fuging idiot

all i know is that a 1-1/2 year old head coach should not be making decisions on 45million dollar contracts. especially since said coach might be gone in only 9 games.

His contract is going to stop anyone from trading for him if the price is right. His money is only guaranteed for this year, after which they could force him to restructure or cut him with no penalty. It all depends on what someone is willing to give up for a potential half year rental.

I think someone said that on here before, but from what I have read he has 2-3 million in bonus each year, for the next 3 years. If we can cut him in June with no penalty I would feel a little better. I just get sick of talented 1st round picks leaving and getting nothing in return. A trade before we extended him would have been nice

Agreed, with the exception of Cam and 1 or 2 others, no one is safe.

yep. i think/hope the new GM is going to have a lot of free reign to rebuild quickly with only a couple people being considered by JR to be untouchable. cam absolutely being one of them.

WE will have a penalty, his remaining prorated signing bonus will be accelerated against our cap. If we were to trade him his cap figure would go up for US by 4.2 million this year, and if we did it after the season was over we cut wait until after the deadline (can't remember the date off the top of my head) that allows for us to spread this hit over two years, which would make his cap hit on the books for two additional years at about 4.8million per.

It is actually beneficial for us to trade him this year, if we do indeed wish to rid ourselves of him. By trading him we can accelerate his bonus immediately which is a little over 12million while shedding his 8million and change cap hit for a net increase of 4.2 million or so. Should we cut him right after the season we would be on the books for 9.6 million next year in cap, or if we wait past the deadline, 4.8million for two years.

My point earlier was that whatever team he was traded to could cut him after this year with no penalty, NOT that we could.

i don't have any proof whatsoever.

Then you need to add "i think" before your thread title. You won't get as many hits but I'm sure you already knew that.
