You're right about that. Yet there is the view out there that Cam is a running QB. Even Cam enjoys his ability to run. How dedicated is he to fully mastering his throwing ability? To become known as a pocket passer that can run? I guess right now having a treasure trove of picks is more alluring than waiting to see if Cam will fully develop.
I'll wait and see how Cam plays for the rest of this season. I know he will put up numbers, but I want to see is that number in rushing or passing.
I hate to speak the truth bc Im going to sound like Im sterotyping but the reason why Cam is view as a running QB is bc of his color, Cam is
"BLACK". Everybody, every scouts, every experts, every media person looks at an African American QB and always assumed that they're a scrambling QB, which 99% of them are capable runners. Dante Culpepper, McNair and McNabb are three established proven "Black" QB in this league that are really "pocket passers", but how are all three of them rememberd? Everyone remembers them for the time they scrambled and made the exciting plays rather than the Tds they threw every year or the 3k/4k yards they put up each and every year. Right? "Black" QBs are viewed as runners and "white" QBs are viewed as "passers". Steve Young was just as good of a runner as a Culpepper, McNabb, RGIII, and Cam but bc hes
"WHITE", everyone remembered him for throwing the 5tds to Jerry Rice in SuperBowl XXIX than when he chose to chuck the ball in and run it.
Cam will only improve his throwing abilities and mechanics with the right coaching staffs and I dont believe that we have it at the moment. They're too busy creating trick plays for him. Cam has not thrown a slant pass or a fade to a 6'3" Brandon Lafail in the endzone, whY??? Can someone tell me why? Its bc the coaching staffs doesnt care of developing Cam into a NFL passer. Im sick of it every weekend to see that they have not develop Cam into throwing these "slants" and "fades" route in the endzone. Delhomme used to kill these endzone fades to a 5'8" Smitty every weekend and you have a 6'3" Lafell and you rather pound the ball with Cam on the 1 yard line setting him up for injuries. You cant tell me that as a QB who in his rookie year just last year who threw for 4K yards isnt a "pocket passer".
