Jordan is a joke.

After saying something like that, I think it'd just be best for everyone if you just sat the rest of the thread out.

Hats off to you, sir. Good one. I normally do not endorse or support what I call "Cyber Snipers", but this needed to be posted.

Go *** yourself

They guy has been a disaster at everything he's done outside of playing on the court. As an owner and a "basketball" guy he's been maybe the worst at what he does. His team is a laughing stock of the NBA.

His advice was as a player. He recognizes the spot Cam is in because he was in the same spot--as a player. How can you dismiss that perspective? Did you think he was giving Cam business advice?

He's giving Cam advice on being an athlete, NOT how to run a business...so WTF does this have to do with it???

We're talking about Michael Jordan the Baskeball legend, not the Owner. Ya know, the one who's won multiple championships. Get that through your head.

doesn't do anything to discredit jordan in this context or in his advice.

it does discredit someone, though.

Yeah, you're right. You are giving all the credit to a guy that got the greatest basketball player of the all time, to fall into his lap. That David Falk guy really was a genius, walking into board meetings and negotiating contracts with Nike. Real hard work that was.

Hey guys, let's give all the credit to the guy who went to the meetings, not the guy whose actual talent got the companies interested to sign up in the first place!

HA, walking into board meetings and negotiating contracts with Nike, you clearly have no idea how the business works.

I think you misunderstood what I said, this is no slight to Jordan's talent on the court. In fact, I also believe he is the greatest sportsman ever. Does that make it a little easier to market / brand an athlete ... of course it does.

All I am saying is Falk (as well as others) ushered in (and basically started) the modern method of sport / athlete marketing. The market is much more saturated these days and we may never see another brand that experiences unprecedented success the way "Jordan" has. In entertainment, there is always someone behind the talent pulling the strings and that is exactly what Falk executed to perfection, without him, the Jordan brand could have easily took a dive the other way. To say otherwise is pure ignorance, Jordan was a superior athlete but he is not a businessman.

I've come to realize that most people can't admit they're wrong, so they just keep digging.
