I have no clue whatsoever as to why people are still screaming for a DT in the first. Anywhere after the 1st, hell yeah. D-line and Linebackers have been the only strong points this year, surprisingly. We need a WR; we can't bank on Smitty like we've done the past 5 years.

No more WR's with good hands but slow speed.

No more WR's that are taken late in the draft, with promise.

We need a no bull shyt 1st round WR. Smith is just a second away from either retiring or spazzing out and knocking off Josh Norman's head. We can't live with him being the only source any more. Ever since Moose left, we've been relying on one guy. We haven't drafted a got damn WR in the 1st in 15 years! *that bytch raena carruth doesn't count*

I agree. I have been saying d line all year long. The one position that can affect EVERY play. If we get that Star guy I'll be ecstatic. He looks like the next Kevin Williams. Hankins would be nice too

Yup I agree that DT is the way to go unless we're unfortunate to land Star or Hankins.

But if you want Kevin Williams, you'd probably need to look at Kawan Short instead. Two are comparable.

DE and LT.
DE was in consideration until Hardy woked up.

I see your point and fully agree that we need to invest a high pick on a WR if we ever want to think about landing a good one other than a mediocre like a Lafell or Gettis.

But you gotta understand that based on where you pick, it comes to play on who and what you draft. I don't see any of the WRs, maybe Keenan Allen as being a Top10 pick. If we land a Top, which ATM we are, DT is the more valuable pick. DLINE is playing better, but are you going to live with Ron Edwards for two more years? You Dnt know, and he's an aging vet. Star or Hankins should be instant upgrade over Ron next year.

If we can trade down to the mid 1st, I'd gladly take a WR.

I'm saying the way the league is that I'd consider a stud DE or Milliner. I think Star is going to be gone for sure by the time we pick. I think Hankins is an excellent option and an obvious need. I also think Damontre Moore is an option and has had a great year. I haven't seen Werner play, but he seems to be a bigtime prospect as well.

I think Milliner is a top 10 -top 15 pick for sure.

As good as the DT class is would it be worth getting an impact DE in the first and seeing if a guy like Jesse Williams from Bama or Floyd from Florida is available in the second.

If Star is gone, Hankins is just as good if not better. The two of them are going to be pretty much blind picks. There's no wrong going with one or the other.

No DE please. We had CJ, Hardy, Alexander and Keiser. We're not the NYG where we can take D-linemen every year. There's no need that we should invest two high picks on both Dline in (Moore and Williams/Floyd) next year. Bc we'd be right back next year to where we are now. Trying to find scrubs on the cheap to play FS and WR. Not a good idea.

That last sentence saved your entire argument. Good critical thinking, sir. You make an excellent point. I agree with you.

Gotta have an open mind to all possibilities.
But I'd still go DT first if top10.

I honestly don't see any stud DEs in this draft. There's a few guys that could be stud pass rushing OLBs. Werner seems ok, but he's still undersized and seems like a guy that can produce on hustle alone in college, but just doesn't have the tools to be a star in the NFL.

And I'm not saying Werner's a OLB at the next level, doesn't seem to have the skillset for that, but he's a risky pick at DE. More of a late 1st or 2nd round pick type of risk. Most of the other big names that are playing DE in college are OLBs in the NFL. OLB or DE bust.

If we can't get Star or Hankins, Luke Joeckel (OT), Keenan Allen (WR), or Milliner (CB) would all be solid...or maybe T. Williams creeps up draft boards come season's end and the eventual combine.

anyone else other than those you mentioned would be disappointing to me in the first.

but we so desperately need help on ol, wr, and safety, I'm beginning to think we
need to trade back and try to get 3 picks in the first two rounds.

I don't know how we look against the cap next year, but I'm pretty sure we can't afford
a really good FA, so 3 very good players in the draft sounds more important to our future success
than 2 really good players.
