On my facebook feed, there were several women saying Obama was cleaning the floor with Romney during the first debate. There were no men saying that.

That's because only women use cleaning metaphors stupid.

Women are more emotionally intelligent than men. They also experience higher highs and lower lows (e.g. more likely to cry at something sad or smile/cheer at something happy). Their world is more colorful whereas a man's world is more shades of brown and gray. Men rarely have emotions that are sensitive enough to base decisions on smartly.

The larger number of female democrats is likely due to the empathic "we feel your pain" mantra of the democratic party since Clinton and beyond, which feeds policies like equal pay, pro-choice, etc.

Another fun fact: Those "social conservatives" were only Democrats because blacks overwhelmingly supported the Republican party at the time, as it had a civil rights platform. Once Truman and other northern liberals put civil rights on the agenda for democrats, those jim crowers left in droves to form the Dixiecrats and the present day Republican party. Its not the party itself, but the MENTALITY of the people in the party that dictates what is what.
