So in Oct per the Dept of Labor, 171k MORE jobs were added and unemployment went UP from 7.8 to 7.9?
In Sept 114k were added and unemployment went DOWN from 8.1 to 7.8?
What am I missing? These are facts and not some out of the air #'s.

Unemployment= people looking for jobs
Jobs added= Jobs added
Do you not see how they aren't directly related or no?

You aren't considered unemployed unless you are looking for a job.
You can add a million jobs but if a gazillion jobless people get off the couch all of the sudden and start actively trying to get a job then the unemployment rate still goes up.

hmm. i might go back and look at the CPS breakdown. see if they are doing the old death/birth model for this. im just trying to guage the momemntum, if any, in the job report.
that is more or less all im focusing on the next few months to see how it's truly trending.

yes iam. an umeployed one but employed financial guy.
i wonder if these #'s are factoring in the death/birth model.the ability to determine new businesses that are coming on board.
