I say we have the momentum and finally learn to finish, 27-24 Panthers.
What does the rest of the huddle say?

Alright let's just get this going, definitely one of the most anticipated games of the season.

What does the rest of the huddle say?
Line is 4, started out at 5.5. General public is loading up on Denver against a home dog. Panthers can win this game straight up. General public is usually wrong. 23-21 Panthers.

wut?
.. if the line started at -5 1/2 Denver and is now -4 Denver .. then that means the public is betting Carolina
but .. your numbers are wrong .. it opened at -3 Denver (in Vegas) and is now around -4 Denver .. some have it at -4 1/2 .. indicating the public is betting Denver

It opened at 5.5 on Goldsheet. Wynn, Caesars, etc. The line is lower to get more action on Carolina.

people wouldn't bet on Carolina if Denver has to win by less! If the line went from -5.5 to -4 LESS people would bet on Carolina
.. because that would mean Carolina could only lose by 4 instead of 5.5 .. the more points Carolina is given the more people will bet on them
.. here is my source for lines .. always been accurate ..

Nobody is betting on Carolina so the lower line will entice people to bet on Carolina. Does that make sense ?

17-7 Denver according to playing them on All Madden this afternoon. Phil Sims and Jim Nantz even called the game... Pretty realistic if u ask me
Yeah but you suck at madden so that's not fair.

dude .. Car is the dog .. the more Denver is favored by the more Car fans bet ..
if the line went from -5.5 to -4 that would mean Denver is favored by LESS so more Denver fans will bet since they have to cover less of a point spread .. but you quoted the line backwards in your OP!!
it was at -4 and went to -5ish .. which entices Car fans to bet because the spread is larger and Denver has to cover more points ..
I'm done explaining how lines work tonight .. good luck with gambling if that's how you read lines!!
