nobody's saying he'll be belichek. the point is sometimes coaches take a few years to get the ball rolling when there are a lot of factors at play.

rivera may or may not be the right guy, but the OP raises a point worth considering.

Apologies for the retarded outbursts

The part of La Pantera without Down's ran down my leg

The internet is the only place where he can release his pent up energy

You should choose better clients. Of course you can't be choosy. Its hard to make money when you can't tell the difference between your ****** and the ol brown eye. I should know I got lost at birth and the doctors sent in exploration crew...it was rough day for everyone. Luckly they only lost a couple guys In the catacombs of your vagina. But toxic gases are always a problem in those situations.

Or the more likely scenario, the coach is just bad. Which is the overwhelming majority of coaches that have been fired in the history of the NFL.

I don't think it takes five years to learn how manage the clock and make simple decisions that are common sense to head coaches around the league. In order to get second chances and whatnot, you actually have to show some potential. RR doesn't have it.

Nobody fits B. Only 2 coaches have 2 loses. 1 win Holmgren with GB and 2 loses with GB and Sea. and Belichick, who won 3 Super bowls ( vs Rams, vs Panthers, vs Eagles).

Yes but B says that this coach only has 2 super bowl wins.

I want to make a thread about some crappy first time coaches who never got better.

If only pro football games lasted five years instead of 3-4 hours

Then maybe Rivera could have time to adjust to the slant pass and we could beat the bears

It seems like High School teams make more adjustments than we do.

How about a coach who went 1-13 his first year, 5-9 the second, 6-8 the third, then won 4 Super Bowls?

...or we could actually have a guy like Mike Nolan. Time will tell.

I think from what we have seen, Rivera is willing to make adjustments(at least eventually) to something that isn't working. How many coaches have we had/seen that never change their philosophy and live and die by that mantra? The only thing I worry about is his ingame managment(clock and when to kick/go for it).

Answers: Remember I was talking about their first HC NFL Jobs.

Coach A: Jimmy Johnson
Coach B: Bill Belichick
Coach C: Bill Walsh
Coach D: Ron Rivera

Like I said this was a small sample. If you wanted to find others you are more than welcome. It is true some HC's never do ban out, however I think 2 years for a team might be a little to soon to call it quits on a guy. If JR decided to fire him and start over again we are more than likely looking at 2 more losing seasons before that ball starts rolling. Not always but more times than not.

Yeah, once Jerry held a gun to his head...

That doesn't really give him a check mark in the "makes adjustments" category.
