Gettis and Rivera....
Anyone know any insider info on why Gettis didn't see the field much? And supposedly they got into it on the sidelines yesterday.
Rivera doesn't seem to have sympathy for injured players. (Otah, Hogan) I'm not saying who's right or wrong, but Gettis is young and probably doesn't want to permanently ruin his career before it really starts.

Yes I was there, and pre game, they got in a shouting match while the team was stretching and Gettis was by the trainer?

Where to start?

Well you could look at the fact that Rivera is a retarded HC. I'd start there.

I think it may have more to do with Gettis feeling like he was ready for a few weeks now, and Rivera not giving him the opportunities he feels like he deserves. Not saying either is right or wrong, but we really could use Gettis' size and speed out there....

How are we a vertical offense, with only one aging WR that seems to be able to take the top off the D? Gettis at least has the speed to do just that.

I would think Rivera/Chud would have been excited to get Gettis back in there.

ok Joe Adams coughed the ball up... i can kind of understand that decision(although at this point, id go back to him)

but Gettis hasn't made those mistakes, hes been patiently waiting for his shot, looks great in practice from the little i've seen

why is this man not getting a chance?

I saw Gettis at one point late in the game bitching to another coach/trainer on the sideline, not sure who it was. I couldn't determine if it was over his snaps, or if he was complaining about the play on the field. Either way, you could tell he was pissed.

Rivera has trying to ruin everyone's career. Gettis needs to stay far away.

Seems to me Rivera still feels like he can play for his job and is unwilling to experiment with the 'could be's' of the team. He doesn't have the luxury of being able to focus on the long term development of players.

While I think Gettis should have been given a shot already, bitching at the coach is probably the last thing he should be doing to try to get on the field. Coaches are arrogant pricks, which can be particularly frustrating when they are as incompetent as Rivera, you are only going to piss them off more by taking this approach.

I get that, but it seems like Gettis would be a potential upgrade immediately.

Gettis dropped RR's punk card; RR left it right there on the field.

Doubt gettis is in game shape, also doubt he understands most of the playbook. Hes been active 3 weeks, he isn't going to make an instant impact

But it's not like hes just sat on his ass all year...didn't testeverde come in from sitting on the couch at 40 years old for us and have an impact winning his first game in like 3 days? I hate the whole "won't make an instant impact" bullshit, specially when they aren't even getting a chance
