You can get good deals on refurb Kindle Fires on Amazon...same warranty. Was $150 bucks...now cheaper. It's not their latest greatest though.

Interesting thanks. Truth be told I probably won't bother restricting anything. If I let her go to public school, free range internet can't be much worse right?

Last I looked FreeTime was in Beta, if it's in production we've solved one of our Christmas goals!

Kindle Fire is definitely the way to go. For the price they are super powerful.

And get a Zagg invisishield and a case given the penchant for kids to be a little more aggressive in handling delicate devices.
